On 14 February 2025, Charlotte Grenat and Jann Halexander released their song PCV. It is a philosophical ballad about a question that haunts many of us: are we alone in the universe? A PCV call (short for ‘à PerCeVoir’) is a telephone call in which the caller wishes to make a call at the expense of the recipient. The recipient can accept or refuse the call.

The UAP Afrique collective produced the video this summer. Filming took place in the commune of Orthoux-Sérignac-Quilhan, in the Gard department, and Pic Saint-Loup, in the Hérault department.

The video features two friends on holiday who, each in their own way, encounter something strange and disturbing. The lyrics and music for PCV were written by Charlotte Grenat. She will be performing alongside Jann Halexander on 16 September at the International Art Gallery in Paris at 6.30pm, during a mini-concert as part of the ARTrip exhibition, 78 Avenue de Suffren 75015 Paris.

The track is available on french-gabonese singer Jann Halexander’s album “Ornithorynque” (distributed by Purple Shadow Agency) on the Bandcamp platform.

The opening clip pays tribute to the famous farmer Maurice Masse (to whom Dominique Filhol’s recently released film “Valensole 1965” is dedicated) and Luce Fontaine from Réunion Island. Charlotte Grenat and Jann Halexander play two people relaxing in a small town in the south of France in the middle of summer. It is very hot and the sky is clear. They stroll through the woods, take the car and drive around the countryside. The woman sees a UFO flying over the swimming pool where she is dipping her feet. The man sees the object flying over the woods. A woman walking her dog also sees the intriguing sphere. Strange phenomena appear in the sky. The man finds himself trapped in a kind of pool of orange liquid and tries to struggle free. We find the woman running through the woods, distraught, not understanding what has happened. The man appears on the grass and regains consciousness. What happened to each of them? Night falls. Day breaks, and the man and woman each open the doors to their balconies and look at the sky in the distance. The Pic Saint-Loup region seems to be covered in a strange mist. The woman turns towards the camera lens. She smiles. Something has changed in her.

Those familiar with the subject of UFOs will recognise the typical aspects associated with abductions (kidnappings by non-humans): the disruption of space-time, objects that appear suddenly, and missing time among witnesses. Some will draw parallels with films such as “Dark Skies” (2013) or ‘Horse Girl’ (2020). “PCV” is being released in a context of accelerated (and disorganised) disclosure by the United States, Japan and Brazil, where the authorities are reluctantly acknowledging the existence of objects unrelated to human civilisations. But the clip is not particularly aimed at connoisseurs; it is aimed at the general public, who are likely to be captivated by the mysterious atmosphere of this unidentified film object.
